A busy weekend for Repton HC

This weekend saw action for our Ladies XI, Mens XI and a busy training morning for our U10s and U12s.
Stone HC welcomed Repton HC Mens XI to the opening of their new astro surface in a friendly, but competitive, fixture on Saturday afternoon. In front of a large home crowd our Head Coach, Martin Jones, did the honours of officially opening the new pitch at his former club before an entertaining game which resulted in a 0-3 loss against a disciplined, well organised Stone HC side. Thank you to Stone HC for such a great welcome for RHC at one of our first Men's away fixtures and for offering such warm hospitality to all our players both before and after the match. It was a great training experience for our newly formed Mens XI and prepared them well for Sunday's home match against visiting side Barton HC. Another highly charged competitive match resulted in a 2-2 draw at full time against a team placed leagues above us with a fine display of goal keeping from super RHC keeper Dan Darby!
Our Ladies XI also had a successful weekend with their second league fixture against Amber Valley Hornets resulting in a 21-0 full time score. With eight different scorers across the squad (including B2H graduate Non!) our girls stayed composed and played good passing hockey throughout ensuring goal difference should leave them firmly placed at the top of Derbyshire Division 1!
Our newly formed U10 and U12 squads enjoyed their weekly training session on Sunday morning with Russell, Amy and Aaron leading small coaching groups across both age groups on a sunny, autumnal morning down at Repton Astros.
