Men Crowned League Champions!

Our Bulls Head Mens 1st XI entered the final weekend of the League season knowing that two victories would earn them the League Title. On Saturday they entertained Melton at home in a tight game and despite leading 3-1 at half time, some lapses in concentration allowed their opponents to draw level with fifteen minutes remaining. Jonesy scored three late goals to earn the result as he helped himself to 5 goals with Aaron Hibell netting the other from the penalty spot. On Sunday a much changed team travelled to Leicester Westleigh meaning that the Mens XI have now fielded 40 different players during the league season, and in particular giving numerous junior members exposure to adult hockey. With the talisman Jones rested the task of closing the season out was left to the youngsters, with the team having an average age of 18 ½ years old. These youngsters duly stepped up with 14 year old Zack Brough debutant playing an important role in defence beyond his years and youngester Billy earning himself Man of the Match for his silky skills in the D. Repton were in control for most of the game with two goals for Marcus Tarrant, one for Tomas Landa (his tenth goal for RHC since his arrival in January!) and fittingly Captain Joe Fell scoring to win the game 4-1. All credit to Leicester Westleigh who contributed to a great season ending game. Repton ended their League season scoring 109 goals and conceding just 31 in their 20 matches.
