RHC Round Up!
Posted by Club Secretary on 6 November 2017
Nine matches were played this weekend with over 135 Repton HC members playing in competitive fixtures home and away!
First up were the Bulls Head Mens XI in a top of the table clash with Ashby HC. Two goals apiece for Martin Jones and Aaron Hibell secured victory in a close contest ending in a 4-3 score leaving Repton HC sitting top of the East Mids Prem League with 13 points after 5 league matches.
Our Stratstone BMW Ladies XI cruised through to a strong 8-0 victory against Derby Ladies 2s and, as the fireworks lit up the sky around them, it was fitting that Georgie Brownhill scored her fourth goal of the match, which was in fact the 100th goal scored by the Repton HC Ladies XI this season in their league matches! A brace for Hannah Davey and goals for Ann Johnson, Claudia Swain and Georgia Brown all added to Georgie's tally and leave the RHC Ladies XI sitting comfortably at the top of their League with 27 points and a Goal Difference of +97.
As usual Sunday morning was a hive of activity from 9am down at the astros with our U10s and U12s training from 9am through to 11.15am with numbers growing each week across both the boys and girls squads.
In the next round of the EH junior championship matches we had three teams at home and four away. Our SCC U14 girls led the way over at Stourport HC where, in a closely fought contest, they battled hard for a 3-0 victory with goals from Miranda Jackson, Phillippa Jowett and Charlotte Pavis.
Our Tandem U14 boys were both at home against Lichfield (Tier 1) and West Bridgford (Tier 2) and members can read the infamous Cleggy match reports for more details on both games ....

The Stratstone BMW U16 girls were home and away with the Tier 1 team facing a travelling Stourport side and Tier 2 girls away against North Stafford HC. After a shaky first half that left Stourport leading 4-0, Liv Hackney and Imo Hatton scored two second half goals to make the final score 2-4. The U16 Tier 2 girls had a fantastic game against Stafford with a final score of 11-2 with hat-tricks from Sophia Ktori and Zara Wedgwood.
The Bulls Head U16 boys were away against Beeston (Tier 1, 3-3 draw) and West Bridgford (Tier 2, 5-1 WIn) with every single member of our U16 boys' squad having the chance to put their weeks' of club training into practise with competitive matches in the EH Championship Competition.
As ever, the club rely hugely on all the volunteers, coaches, umpires and managers, and never more so than on a busy club Sunday with 7 junior matches and U10/12 training. Thank you to all those who helped and please do contact secretary.reptonhc@gmail.com if you are able to help, in anyway, on any of our club match days going forward. Our next round of championship matches take place on November 19th with 9 teams in action, both home and away, and details can all be found on the events calendar: https://reptonhc.clubbuzz.co.uk/members/calendar/2017/11/19
