U10s are Midland Champions and Runners Up!

Congratulations to the Repton HC U10 Boys who are MIDLANDS CHAMPIONS for 2017/18! The boys played some exceptional hockey throughout the morning to reach the final vs Stratford HC and in a nail biting match, which went to penalty flicks, were crowned overall champions. After a season of early Sunday mornings down on the Repton Astros for training, skills sessions and practise matches (often in freezing conditions!) the players and coaches' hard work paid off with fantastic results in the U10s inaugural season and is a testament to the strength of the boys squad. Many thanks to coach Dan Darby for his efforts throughout the season developing this talented group of boys and to him and Manager Tom Naylor for their hard work during yesterday's tournament. The club is really excited to see how this talented group of boys develop over future seasons!
Not to be outdone, the Repton HC U10 girls put on a similar professional display of hockey to cruise to the Regional Final beating Market Harborough 2-0 in the quarter finals and Newark 1-0 in the semi-final. The girls had scored 10 goals and conceded only one to reach the final against a strong Sutton Coldfield side who they battled hard against, losing 0-2 to take the Runners Up spot! In a strong field of 16 county winning clubs this was an amazing achievement and the girls should be very proud of their development and how well they have represented Repton HC in its first year at this age group. Thanks must go to coach Rod for all his successful coaching throughout the season and to manager Richard who has supported Rod and the team so well.
