WC Eagles tour match

Sunday saw an U16s Repton Hockey Club side play the U19s girls from WC Eagles, the No 1 ranked USA club, who were taking advantage of the Thanksgiving break to test themselves against sides in the UK.
The Eagles had a large squad who were very fast, well drilled, athletic and if summed up in a word “relentless”. Due to JAC and NAGs commitments the RHC boys were only 10 including the addition of the able Kazzy. A score line at half time of 1-1, ended up 3-1 to the guests. This proved a worthwhile workout for both sides with the fast pace and large squad size of the WC Eagles eventually taking its toll. We would like to heartily thank the RHC players who stepped in at very short notice to replace a side who pulled out especially since most had just played an hour of indoor hockey in the County round of the EH competition. Impressively the WC Eagles were off to play another club side in the afternoon. They were a pleasure to host and we hope we can welcome them back again in the not too distant future.
