Weekend Round Up 27th/28th October

This weekend saw three adult league wins, U8s/10s matches against Belper HC and the start of the Repton Indoor Hockey League.
With all three adult teams playing away the result of the day went to the Ladies 2s with a hard fought 3-2 win against Burton 2s (Claudia 2, Ann 1). The Ladies 1s were away against Kettering 2s and secured a convincing 5-0 victory (Non 2, Ellie 2, Laura 1) with an impressive team effort from all. The Mens XI travelled to Boots and maintained their top of the table position with a 7-1 win with hat-tricks for Billy and Jonesy!
On Sunday morning we hosted Belper HC U8s and U10s for some game play as part of our regular training. On a sunny, but freezing, morning it was great to give our youngsters a chance to try out some of the skills they have worked on so far this season in a match situation - thanks to Belper HC for making the journey for such an early morning start!
On Sunday evening we hosted the first evening of the Repton Adult Indoor League in the amazing new Repton School Sports Hall. We welcomed adult teams from the region for a competitive indoor league which will be running over the next six weeks. There was some fantastic indoor hockey on display with 72 goals scored in some very competitive contests, enjoyed by a large number of spectators. With thanks to the umpires for their efforts and looking forward to seeing everyone back in action next Sunday evening!
