Your Club Needs You!

As the club looks to expand next season we would really like to
encourage our members, supporters and parents or family members
to become more involved with Repton Hockey Club. There are a
number of opportunities and areas that your help would be very
welcome but particularly in the areas of PR, marketing, coaching
and umpiring.
To this end we are planning to arrange both an Introduction to
Hockey Coaching Course and a Level 1 Umpiring Course to be run at
Repton Sports Centre. Please do get in touch (email to
secretary.reptonhc@gmail.com) if you would like to help in
anyway - we need to confirm numbers for the coaching and umpiring
courses by early April. Both courses will be run over a weekend
later in the summer.
The Coaching Course is suitable for all potential coaches, even
with limited hockey experience, aged 16 years or older. It is a
day long workshop to help you develop the skills for coaching
hockey with confidence ensuring that the sessions you take are
safe, suitable and inspiring for the players you coach.
The Level 1 umpiring course is suitable for anyone aged 14 years
or older and is delivered over one full day. Participants who
have completed the course, including the pre course Online Rules
Test, will be accredited as an England Hockey L1 umpire. This is
a really useful qualification for any of our current junior
members who are looking to become involved in officiating matches
and for parents who would like to take on a more active role in
the club matches.
