Repton HC is pleased to announce that Anna Toman has joined the coaching team.  Anna plays club hockey for Birmingham University HC and has represented Team GB at the 2013 Australian Youth Olympics, winning a bronze medal, as well as picking up a bronze medal with England U21s in 2012.

Repton Hockey club would like to congratulate their U14s Girls head coach Katherine Lane for her selection for the England U21s to play in the Junior World cup in Chile 24th November – 4th December 2016. We are all delighted for Laney and wish her and the rest of the team well as she tests herself against the best junior players in the world.  This is on top of Layney captaining the England  U21s at the recent five nations event in Valencia , Spain.  Laney, who plays club hockey for Leicester ladies in the national Premier league, can be seen below celebrating a goal in Leicester’s 3-1 vs Canterbury at the weekend.

Sunday 6th November sees a busy day of cup matches at the Repton Astros....The day kicks off at 10.30am with our U18 boys against West Bridgford in their first round match of the England Hockey Plate Competition. The U14 boys are next up at 12.15pm with an internal squad match and the U14 girls kick off their Tier 1 competition against Belper at 1pm. The U16 boys meet Chesterfield at 2pm in their first cup match of the 2016/17 season with the U16 girls away at Beeston in the second match of their group. The last match of the day at Repton sees the U18 girls play their second training fixture of the week.... this time they take on Lichfield at 3.30pm after a closely contested match against Leicester HC on Friday evening.

Coffees, teas and cakes will be available throughout the day in the Sports Centre so please do come down and support the teams!

Repton Hockey Club starts its 2016/17 Club Championship campaign with its first matches over the next few days across the age groups.

First up, our Under 18 Girls team face Beeston U18s on Wednesday 12th at Repton Astros at 7pm. On Sunday 16th our Under 16 girls are at home against Lichfield U16s at 11:30am. The U18 boys and U14 boys both play matches away at Bridgnorth and Leek respectively. Wishing all teams the best of luck and please do come down and support the players!

Repton HC's second week of Back 2 Hockey sessions continues to be a great success with numbers swelling under the watchful eye of Martin Jones, our Head Coach. The sessions are 8pm-9pm on Thursday evenings, Repton Astros, on a pay and play basis and all adults are welcome.

Also in action this week was our new specialist goalie coach Sam Lloyd. Sam worked with the goalies in small groups on the specific skills required to be that all important last line of defence and we are really pleased to welcome him to Repton HC coaching team.

This weekend sees both the boys’ and girls’ U14 teams travelling to Bowdon HC for matches on Sunday - wishing Laney and Cleggy good luck with their new, young teams!

Finally, congratulations to our 12 Club members selected to attended Futures Cup and HiPAC as they continue to work towards the National Age Group Squads for England and Wales. Good luck to them all and hopefully some of them will go on to join our three players who have already gained NAGs experience.

Repton Hockey Club is launching Back 2 Hockey sessions on Thursday evenings 8pm-9pm starting Thursday September 22nd at Repton Astros. These sessions are open to all adults on a turn up and play basis at £5 per session.

The majority of people that attend Back To Hockey sessions are looking to improve their fitness, confidence and brush up on their hockey skills. Weekly game play will be run on a fun, informal basis and is open to all abilities!

On a beautiful, sunny Sunday Repton Hockey Club (RHC) launched with inaugural matches against Stourport fielding six teams in the boys and girls U14s, U16s and U18s. It was a delight to see 200 young hockey players testing themselves against each other.  A big thank you must go to Stourport for making the day so successful as they had availability issues and managed to draw on other local clubs to bring full competitive sides. We hope to emulate this type of relationship as we develop.   The event was strongly supported by enthusiastic parents as well as the local community.  Our primary goal is to have members playing and enjoying hockey and in this respect the day can be viewed as a resounding success.
