Thursday 16th March - 6:30pm-8pm U14 Girls, U16 Girls, U18 Girls & U14 Boys (please note this is an additional boys training session)

Thursday 16th March - 8pm-9pm Back 2 Hockey

This week is the last RHC junior training session before the Easter break.

Repton HC U16 girls narrowly missed qualfying for Nationals yesterday despite a great team performance and some fantastic hockey skills from our girls. Their first match against Brooklands resulted in a 3-1 win but was followed by a tight match against a physical Ben Rhydding side ending in a 1-2 loss. The girls played their hearts out in their final match against Neston resulting in a 6-0 victory but unfortunately the result on the other pitch did not go our way and we missed out on qualification by 1 point.

It was a great day of hockey though for all the clubs and we wish Ben Rhydding the best of luck as they represent the North pool at Nationals at Lee Valley in April.

As ever a huge thank you to all those who baked and helped with the refreshments ...and in particular Erin Franklin, our amazing GK, who turned up early to help set up and arrived with a special RHC cake!

Don't forget RHC host the Girls U16 Regionals tomorrow (Sunday 12th March) down at the astros with matches at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm. Please come down and support our U16 girls as they strive to to top the pool and reach the National Finals in April at Lee Valley. As always teas, coffees and homemade cakes will be available. This Sunday saw Repton HC hosting the U16 boys Regionals involving Leicester, Lichfield and Worcester for a place in the National Finals. The day didn't go to plan for our boys with losses in their first two group matches against Leicester and Lichfield. A 2-1 win against Worcester in their final match was a consolation in what was a very competitive Midlands group.  All the games were tight and played in a constant downpour but Lichfield were deserving National qualifiers after winning all of their games.  We would like to wish them the best of luck representing our Midlands group in the Nationals finals in April.  

Thank you to everyone who baked cakes, helped on the refreshments stall and supported our boys through one of the wettest mornings of hockey at Repton HC! 

As the weather turned brighter it was the chance of the mixed team to play in the next round of the EH Mixed Plate against West Bridgford. The winning score of 13-2 didn't reflect the competitive nature of the game and all credit to West Bridgford who were threatening to the end. With 7 different goal scorers there was plenty of opportunity for some of our juniors to play with some of our more experienced adults in a competitive adult match - a special well done to Kazzy and Georgia on their goals! 

Thank you to the three umpires, Dex, Cleggy and Will,  who helped throughout the day.

This Sunday 5th March sees Repton HC hosting the U16 boys Regionals - matches at 11am, 12.15pm and 1.30pm so do come down and support! Refreshments available throughout the day and be sure to stay around for the highlight of the Repton hockey club calendar... the latest round of the Mixed Plate with Martin Jones leading a mixed side of adult and junior players against West Bridgford at 3pm!

This Sunday 5th March, Repton HC will be hosting the U16 Boys Midlands EH Regionals Competition with matches at 11am; 12.15pm and 1.30pm on both pitches. Round 2 of the Mixed Plate Competition will be played at 3pm on the water based astro - all support welcome with hot drinks and refreshments available throughout the day!

Five teams were in action this Sunday in the last group games of the Tier 1 U14/16 competitions and the U18s Girls Plate Quarter Finals.

Our BMW U18 girls travelled away to Sutton Coldfield for their Quarter Finals and came away with a convincing 12-0 victory to qualify for the Semi Finals of the Plate, away at Cheltenham on 9th April.

The Bulls Head U16 boys, who had already qualified for Regionals, played their last Tier 1 group game at home against West Bridgford and secured a 12-1 victory with six different players getting their name on the score sheet. The boys will now face the 7 other top teams in the Midlands Cluster at the Tier 2 Regional Rounds on 5th March.

The BMW U16 girls, who have also already qualified top of their league in the Tier 1 stage, played a friendly fixture against a strong U16/18 Brooklands HC. They battled out a 5-0 victory in an entertaining, competitive game which was useful preparation for the girls' Regional Rounds on Sunday 12th March. Thanks to Brooklands for making the journey down to Repton for such an enjoyable fixture!

Our SCC U14 girls played their last Tier 1 group game against local team Beeston, with both teams on the same points and goal difference heading to Regionals! With both teams starting quite tentatively, watched by a large crowd of spectators, the girls settled into a great game of hockey for both sides. The 0-0 draw at the end of the match was a good result for both teams after 60 minutes of great U14 hockey - a true testament to the high standard of Midlands junior hockey at this age group. Best of luck to both teams as they head to the Regionals on Sunday 2nd April.

The Tandem U14 boys battled hard in their last Tier 1 group round against a strong Alderley Edge side. The boys needed a win or draw to qualify for Regionals, but unfortunately lost out in the last minute of the game with an open play Alderley Edge goal resulting in a 1-2 loss. We wish Alderley Edge the best of luck in the Northern Regional Rounds and the boys should be pleased with their development and progress in their first season together with Repton HC.
