Congratulations to our U16 girls who defeated Surbiton 5-3 in a nail biting final to be crowned the EH Girls Club National Under 16 Super Sixes Champions 2016/17! Our U16 boys also reached the final after an impressive tournament but were defeated by a strong Surbiton side and came away with silver medals. What an amazing achievement for all of our players and coaches to win gold and silver at Repton Hockey Club's first National competition in its inaugural year.

Back 2 Hockey sessions continue in 2017 on Thursday evenings 8pm-9pm starting Thursday January 12th at Repton Astros. These sessions are open to all adults on a turn up and play basis at £5 per session.

The majority of people that attend Back To Hockey sessions are looking to improve their fitness, confidence and brush up on their hockey skills. Weekly game play will be run on a fun, informal basis and is open to all abilities!

Thursday 12th Jan  6:30pm-8pm U16 Girls, U18 Girls, U14 Boys, U14 Girls and all GKs

Friday 13th Jan 6.30pm-8pm U16 Boys, U18 Boys

Any players representing their school in the National Indoor Finals are not expected to attend these outdoor sessions. All other players are expected at training and should email headcoach.reptonhc@gmail.com if they are not able to attend.

Indoor training session details will be emailed to squad members.

Please note, if training is cancelled due to frozen pitches / adverse weather all members will receive an email and the website will be updated.

U16s DO THE DOUBLE...Our U16 Boys are Midland Super 6s Champions and are off to Nationals....joining Repton HC U16 girls.

Another successful Sunday for Repton Hockey Club as our U16 boys were crowned Midlands Super 6s Champions and qualify for the National Finals at Aldersley. Match report and further details can be found at the boys indoor U16 team page in the members area.

 

Our U18 boys also competed well, narrowly missing out on the semi-finals, but representing Repton HC well in our first outing at an Indoor Regional Tournament. The match report can be found at the U18 boys indoor team page.

Please note there is NO outdoor club training this week for boys or girls. Thank you to all players, coaches and volunteers for their hard work over the first half of our inaugural season. We are planning to look at some social events in the next half of the season and would like to hear any suggestions from players.

Back2Hockey continues this Thursday at Repton Astros 8pm-9pm with our last session before the Christmas break. Back2Hockey is open to all adults on a pay and play basis - shin pads and sticks provided and all abilities welcome!

Outdoor training will recommence in January. The timetable now switches so that boys train fortnightly and the girls train every week. Any boys not playing school hockey please email the Head Coach and we can look at options to increase training time. Sunday saw an U16s Repton Hockey Club side play the U19s girls from WC Eagles, the  No 1 ranked USA club, who were taking advantage of the Thanksgiving break to test themselves against sides in the UK. 

The Eagles had a large squad who were very fast, well drilled, athletic and if summed up in a word “relentless”.  Due to JAC and NAGs commitments the RHC boys were only 10 including the addition of the able Kazzy.  A score line at half time of 1-1, ended up 3-1 to the guests. This proved a worthwhile workout for both sides with the fast pace and large squad size of the WC Eagles eventually taking its toll. We would like to heartily thank the RHC players who stepped in at very short notice to replace a side who pulled out especially since most had just played an hour of indoor hockey in the County round of the EH competition. Impressively the WC Eagles were off to play another club side in the afternoon. They were a pleasure to host and we hope we can welcome them back again in the not too distant future.
